My boyfriend’s roommate is a huge Phoenix Suns fan, so naturally, for his surprise 22nd BIRTHDAY party, we were consistent with the theme. Purple & orange balloons, jell-o shots, streamers, lights, decorations and a life-size Steve Nash pinata. We used foam, paint and glitter to create “Suns” cake toppers, etc.
I apologize for the shoddy quality of the Blackberry RIM device camera.

Halloween Jell-O Shots!
These went really well with our Halloween Jungle Juice Cauldron.
Use Halloween colors like purple, orange, green and red.
Follow the directions on the back of the Jell-O box, except when you add the cold water, use some alcohol! If the box calls for 5 cups cold water, use 3 cups cold water and 2 cups vodka. Generally, replacing about 1/2 the amount of cold water works well.
You can use vodka, rum, gin or even tequila in shots but Jell-O shots are best when they are swallowed, so don’t waste money on expensive alcohol.
Mid-refrigeration add edible gummies (bones, candy corns) to the shots. You can even wait several hours, and use layered colors.
Allow at LEAST 7 hours for refrigeration
Tips for Success
- spray a tiny tiny bit of non-stick flavorless cooking spray to the plastic cups before pouring the shots
- clean out your fridge completely & stack shots on baking sheets & plates so they can all cool off long enough with enough room
- pour the jell-o goo into a measuring cup or pitcher before pouring into cups for less mess & less waste
- color code the shots by potency so everyone, even the DDs can have some, or make sure that the one girl dressed up like Lady Gaga only gets the weak ones.
- replace some water with Strawberry Boone’s Farm for fizz & a fun taste

The Ultimate Halloween Jungle Juice.
This very affordable and awesome version of Jungle Juice made our Halloween party AWESOME last year, so we are doing it again.
Ingredients:
- Everclear Grain Alcohol (190 proof - it’s only $19.99 at AZ Safeways :) - but is illegal in some states, so substitute another high proof liquor)
- Hawaiian Punch (the regular kind - no exceptions)
- Sunny D
- Sprite or 7Up
- Boone’s Farm Strawberry Sparkling Wine ($2.99)
- Fruit (fresh pineapple, strawberries, mangoes, oranges, watermelon - everything works)
- Dry Ice! (looks sooo cool up close!)
- Optional: more alcohol & other fruity liquors (99 Apples, Peach Schnapps, Orange Juice, Bacardi 151, other flavors of Boone’s Farm, etc. but just add to taste) & use ORANGE cups instead of red ones - we did too, as pictured above.
To Make:
- Dump all of these ingredients into a giant Halloween cauldron & mix. Use equal parts but just taste it until it tastes good. Unlike traditional Jungle Juice, this requires less liquors and juices but is still just as tasty & potent!
For the best effect, try to make it as early as you can so the juices and fruits can mix well & the fruit at the bottom of the Jungle Juice will be edible & contain alcohol at the end of the night.
- Use dry ice (get at the grocery store the night of) to create the witch brew effect
- Serve!

Obviously, don’t serve this to minors because their low tolerance to grain alcohol results in PUKE. This blend tastes really good but deceivingly contains a lot of alcohol. This is ALWAYS a hit at parties, so buy extra juice, fruit and liquor.
